Blog reboot

Hello 2026!

It’s 2026, time to reboot the blog; unlearn and contemplate…

What skills can I learn/apply/refine to continue to add value and be useful in our ever evolving world? - There is certainly no lack of choice, I mean what a time to be alive!

Autonomous cars, AI, Robotics, data-centers in space. Climbing up that Kardashev_scale. Almost sounds like a Dr Who season teaser!

Last year I learnt my editor for the next 10-20 years in nvim.

I’ve tired of TS, sure I’ll have to use it as needed, but I’m really keen to learn new programming languages.

  1. Zig seems pretty useful and sounds more fun than Rust. It seems super versatile, not sure if I’ll be able to use it at work :(

  2. Gleam chosen for curiousity and a thirst for a statically typed functional programming that can target the Beam run-time or javascript - sounds interesting.
